Hello world — The Beginning of Our Lovely Little Mess

Well, here we go. Deep breath. Full hearts. Open suitcases (and lots of bins).

Welcome to Lovely Little Mess — our little corner of the internet where we’re choosing to trade stuff for stories, chaos for connection, and comfort for calling. This blog marks the beginning of a wild and intentional season for our family as we prepare for a huge life shift: paying off debt, purging what we own, and hitting the road together.

Over the next year, we’ll be letting go of the “extras” — the things that no longer serve us — so we can step into a simpler, more meaningful life. A life that fits our family, not one we’re squeezing into to keep up with everyone else. We’ve decided we’re not waiting for the perfect moment — because spoiler alert: it doesn’t exist. What we do have is now, and we’re going all in.

As a mom, a labor & delivery nurse, and a photographer, this is a dream that’s been tugging at my heart for a long time. The idea of caring for others in different communities, while growing and exploring with my family beside me? It’s the kind of messy, meaningful adventure I was made for.

We’ll be sharing the real and raw of it all — the debt payoff hustle, the great purge, the emotional goodbyes, the sweet hellos, and the beautiful unknowns ahead. We’re not experts. We’re not minimalist masters. We’re just a family saying yes to something new — and bringing you along for the ride.
